Robert Lee Lofing - May 18, 2006

Robert LofingRobert Lee Lofing, 75 years old, Worland resident, died at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, MT. from complications of cancer.

Bob was born to Henry & Mary (Stroman) Lofing on June 27, 1930 in Wheatland, WY. He received his early education in Dayton, Wyoming; after his eighth grade year Bob moved with his family to Wheatland, Wyoming where he graduated from High School in 1947.

Bob served his country in the National Guard from 1950 to 1951. He was married to Dorothy Lipps on August 31, 1952 in Wheatland. They moved to Worland where Bob was employed as a farm hand. He spent most of his life working the ground, farming and raising his family. As a single man he was devoted to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He enjoyed attending church, spending time with family, gardening and lately doing genealogy.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Adam and Raymond.

He is survived by his sons: Robert & (Rhonda) Lofing of Palmdale, CA; Michael & (Carole) Lofing of Evergreen, CO; daughters: Lisa Monroney of Greeley, CO; Karen Barr of Worland, WY; Christi & (Sam) McClure of Pinedale, WY; sister: Dorothy & (Kenneth) Hanks of Wheatland, WY; sister-in-law: Elizabeth Lofing of Colorado; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with Reverend L.E. Bud Surles officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. VFW and American Legion are in charge of Military Honors.
